Bed Frame Disposal Singapore
The Last Thing Left in the Room
Moving day winds down. The boxes are gone, the movers have left, and there it is — the bed frame, still bolted together, too wide for the bedroom door. Nobody budgeted time for this part. A queen-size storage bed with six drawers doesn't walk itself out of a flat. It needs to come apart, piece by piece, inside the room where it was assembled years ago.
That dismantling labour is exactly what we handle.
Why Town Council Collection Doesn't Solve This
Your town council — whether it's Tanjong Pagar TC, Ang Mo Kio TC, or any other — will collect bulky items on scheduled days. But they won't take a whole bed frame. The requirement is that you dismantle it yourself first, break it down to individual slats and panels, then carry those pieces to the designated collection point at ground level.
For a 3-room HDB flat on the 12th floor, that means wrestling side rails and a headboard into a standard passenger lift (there's no service lift in HDB blocks), making multiple trips, and timing it all to the council's collection window. Most people discover this requirement after they've already run out of energy and patience.
We skip all of that. Our crew dismantles the frame inside your bedroom, carries every component out, and loads it onto our vehicle the same visit.
What Actually Happens During the Job
A typical bed frame disposal starts in the bedroom itself. Our crew backs out the bolts connecting the side rails to the headboard and footboard. For storage beds with drawer mechanisms, we remove each drawer unit, detach the hydraulic lifts or sliding tracks, and separate the platform panels. Divan bases get split along their joining brackets — most are two halves bolted together with connector plates that are hidden under the mattress.
Once everything is in manageable sections, the parts move through the bedroom door, down the corridor, and into the lift without scraping walls or door frames. Timber and metal components that still have reuse value get routed into second-hand channels where possible. The rest goes through proper recycling and disposal intermediaries.
Frame Types We Clear Most Often
Storage / drawer beds — the heaviest category. Particle-board platforms, metal drawer runners, and sometimes hydraulic gas struts all need systematic removal before the base can leave the room.
Divan bases — deceptively bulky. Two upholstered halves joined by metal brackets, often too wide for a bedroom door when connected.
Slatted wooden frames — lighter, but the slats number 15–20+ and the side rails are long. We bundle and carry them in one trip.
Metal frames — fastest to dismantle (usually Allen-key bolts), but awkward angles in tight bedrooms still make them a two-person job.
Headboards — upholstered headboards wider than the door frame need to come off their mounting brackets and be angled out carefully.
HDB Flats
Standard passenger lifts in HDB blocks fit most dismantled frame sections without issue, but the corridor-to-lift journey matters. Narrow L-shaped corridors in older blocks (think Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 or Jurong West Street 42 layouts) mean long side rails sometimes travel at an angle. Our crew plans the route before unbolting anything. Surcharges may apply for walk-up blocks without a lift — confirmed at quote stage.
Condos
Condo service lifts make the physical transport easier, but the admin layer is on you. If your MCST requires advance booking of the service lift or any other approval, the owner or tenant arranges that directly with building management before our scheduled arrival. Rules differ per building — some need 48 hours' notice, others just a same-day sign-in at the guardhouse.
Common Questions
Do you take the mattress too? Yes. Most clients clear the frame and mattress together. We handle both in the same trip — check our mattress disposal page for specifics on mattress types.
Do I need to dismantle anything before you arrive? No. That's the whole point. Leave the bed exactly as it is. Our crew brings the tools and does the dismantling on-site.
How is the quote worked out? WhatsApp us a photo of the bed frame (and mattress, if included). We assess the frame type, your floor level, lift access, and any timing factors. Surcharges may apply for after-hours, Sundays, public holidays, or stair-carry situations — all confirmed before you commit. We don't publish fixed prices because every frame and every flat layout is different.
